Presentation

Science on Stage Switzerland is an association which tries to promote science education, primarily by selecting and sending Swiss teachers to the festival organized by Science on Stage Europe.

The European festival takes place every two years in a different European city, and lasts 3 days. Some 450 science teachers from 34 countries gather to exchange ideas for teaching biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics. Each participant has a stand in a large "market" (Fair) where they present a personal experiment, an educational activity or a project. Of course participants visit the Fair, but also participate in workshops, seminars, conferences and scientific events.

Participation in the European festival is rewarding both professionally and personally : 79 % of participants have incorporated ideas seen at the festival in their education and 69 % of participants recognize the motivation which they have gained and the pleasure in their teaching.
